Some P16.1 billion in import tax revenues generated from Japanese goods will be automatically wiped out once the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement is implemented, according to Senator Gregorio Honasan. The revenue loss will come as a result of the agreement鈥檚 provision reducing the tariff rate on certain Japanese products, Honasan said.
