As part of its continuing regional caravan in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), the Socioeconomic Research Portal for the Philippines (SERP-P)—the country’s first online repository of socioeconomic knowledge resources—is reaching out to institutions beyond Metro Manila to strengthen its open-access and knowledge-sharing efforts.

SERP-P Project Director Melinda Quiñones and Project Manager Ezekiel Nicomedes visited the University of the Philippines Baguio for an orientation and exploratory meeting on how open access can bring the university’s research outputs closer to policymakers, academics, students, and development practitioners nationwide.

UP Baguio Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Alipio T. Garcia welcomed the SERP-P team, joined by academic chairs, center directors, librarians, and other representatives.

Through this engagement, SERP-P and UP Baguio look forward to advancing evidence-informed policymaking by making relevant and homegrown research more accessible to the public.
